Rosatom unit sends 1st batch of MOX fuel to Beloyarskaya TETs
MOSCOW, Aug 27 (PRIME) -- Fuel company TVEL, part of Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom, has sent the first batch of mixed uranium and plutonium oxide (MOX) fuel to the fourth unit of the Beloyarskaya TETs power plant, TVEL said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Loading of 18 heat-producing assemblages to the reactor is scheduled for October–December 2019,” the company said.
The Beloyarskaya plant, launched in 1964, accounts for 10% of electric power output in the Sverdlovsk Region.
